Executive Course on Global Health Instruments: The Case of the WHO FCTC

The Graduate Institute "2015 will mark the tenth anniversary of the entry into force of the WHO Framework Convention of Tobacco Control (FCTC). It will also be a key date for the Post-2015 MDG agenda and future health initiatives in the priority area of non-communicable diseases. During the last decade, there have been numerous calls for legally binding global health instruments in other health areas. In this context it will be critical to review the experience of the WHO FCTC and its subsequent Protocol as the first global health treaties of the 21st century."
