What does it take to eliminate a disease?

Novartis Foundation The eradication of smallpox in 1980 has proven that although complex and difficult, eliminating a disease is possible. So what does it take to eliminate a disease? And at the very least, how do we better control diseases so that more people have an improved chance at a long, healthy life. This year’s Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development symposium invites esteemed speakers and experts to discuss these questions; drawing inspiration from lessons in disease elimination campaigns for our own contribution in the fight against leprosy.
