Realising the right to health for all by 2030: Time for a paradigm shift towards equity in healthcare

Action for Global Health (AfGH) and partners held a high level debate entitled "Realising the right to health for all by 2030: Time for a paradigm shift towards equity in healthcare" at the European Development Days, on June 4, 2015 at Brussels. In addition to this, they also held a lab session on the latest ODA for health findings to reveal exactly how much Europe is spending on health.

It is clear that the health-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) will be replaced by one overarching health goal in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, challenges remain, notably in keeping health high on the global agenda. At the same time, the SDGs and their strong commitment to leaving no one behind and addressing inequalities both among and within countries, provide an unprecedented opportunity to develop a more relevant global health agenda.
