We Get Involved

Together with and on behalf of our members, MMS always gets involved where the right to health for all is concerned. We are committed to achieving a Switzerland that accepts its responsibilities and works in solidarity worldwide for access to health for all and the right to health. - Medicus Mundi Switzerland finances this commitment through its own financial resources and accordingly does not use public funds for political work.

MMS Manifesto: Health for All within a Generation

The Network Medicus Mundi Switzerland is publishing this manifesto to help achieve the right to health for all within a generation, to ensure compliance with Agenda 2030 here in Switzerland and to strengthen the shared principles of Swiss organisations and institutions active in international health cooperation to support them in their commitment to this goal.

International Cooperation Communiqué

The Communiqué on International Cooperation contains important decisions that will have a lasting impact on Switzerland’s international cooperation during the next few years and will shape the health and lives of people, especially those in disadvantaged regions of the world. These are compelling reasons for the Medicus Mundi Switzerland network to engage in advocacy and help shape political decisions from a civil society perspective. In its commitment, the network consistently focuses on the right to health for all and on the demand for justice and equality.

Export of Tobacco Products

Tobacco consumption is a major driver in the massively increased prevalence of non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases and cancer, in developing countries in recent years. As the country of domicile for major international companies manufacturing tobacco products, Switzerland carries a special international responsibility which, according to studies by the Medicus Mundi Switzerland network, it is repeatedly neglecting in defiance of the goals of the Swiss Health Foreign Policy.

Previous Campaigns

The MMS network took a stand against the Ecopop Initiative which would have meant a severe setback for family planning and especially for women and their human right to sexual self-determination.
