NCDs: Global Challenges and Opportunities

Graduate Institute Geneva Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of premature death globally. With their inclusion in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the recently announced UN Decade of Action on Nutrition, a window of opportunity for change is emerging. However, addressing NCDs also requires strong local health systems, access to effective and affordable treatment, intersectorial action, and responsible practices of private sector actors.
