MMS Working in fragile contexts is one of the most challenging tasks for organisations of the international health cooperation. The environment is marked by instability, the public structures are weak and the rule of law is lacking. Nevertheless: If the international community wants to reach by 2030 the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) it has to engage especially in these contexts. The MMS Symposium will address these challenges by reflecting different experiences and by having a closer look on building strong community based systems for health in fragile contexts. We will discuss the political framework needed to overcome these challenges from a Swiss perspective.
