As of 1 October 2008, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) will operate with a new organisational structure. The closer integration of individual areas of activity and the leaner decision-making structure is expected to raise the efficiency of Switzerland’s cooperation development agency’s efforts to alleviate poverty and solve global development problems.

The Declaration of Alma Ata was signed 30 years ago. It reaffirmed health as a basic human right. Health for all is only achievable if people throughout the world can get involved in its social, economic and political development. Community health projects are an important approach to doing so.
