Struggling for access to quality health services for all – is Universal Health Coverage the solution?

Direktion für Entwicklung und Zusammenarbeit Worldwide, 400 million people lack access to essential health services, and every year more than 200 million persons are pushed into poverty because of catastrophic health expenditure. Universal Health Coverage (UHC) intends to address this challenge. It is an important target under the Sustainable Development Goal 3 on health in the Agenda 2030. WHO declared 12 December to be World UHC Day. The SDC Global Programme Health invites you to discuss potentials and challenges on the way to UHC with academics, policy makers, practitioners and other interested parties. Invited speakers will shed light on the evolution of the UHC concept and its relevance for the agenda 2030. They will present initiatives covering different aspects of UHC and examine the political framework under which UHC may advance. Please register via corinna.gallimore@eda.admin.ch
