Save the Children Malaria Programme

Save the Children The "Social Innovation in Health Initiative" (SIHI) has selected the most innovative projects in the field of health services on 4 December 2015. Among the elected projects are an interesting Malaria project developed by Save the Children and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

The innovative approach is a progamme to train teachers in rural Malawi to use rapid diagnostic tests to identify and treat schoolchildren for malaria infections an other common illnesses through the Learner Treatment Kits. School thus acts as a prevention and health facility. The project has been critical in reducing the missing school days of children.
