What does the emergence of Dr. Tedros means for Africa?

International Health Policy Newsletter (IHP) With Tedros, a representative of the African continent has been appointed as WHO boss. Born and grew up in a rural region of Ethiopia and as a former health minister, he is well aware of the problems of African health systems.

For a long time the world has attempted to improve health systems in Africa using interventions which have been "cut and past" approches which often doesn't understand the african realities. With Dr Tedros the continent has the change of getting context-adaptive approaches. In an interview with Adie Vanessa Offiong, some African public health experts expressed their opinion.
