Das Spital Manyemen in Kamerun

mission 21 | Anfang der 1950-er Jahre gründete die Basler Mission, heute Trägerverein von mission 21, in Manyemen ein Lepra-Spital. In den folgenden Jahren wurde das «General Hospital» gebaut, um die allgemeine medizinische Versorgung der lokalen Bevölkerung sicherzustellen. 60 Jahre Manyemen - Grund genug, für eine Rückschau und einen Einblick in die aktuelle Situation vor Ort.

The negotiation processes that shape and manage the global policy environment for health are increasingly conducted not only between public health experts representing health ministries of nation states but include many other major players at the national level and in the global arena. The course focuses on health diplomacy as it relates to health issues that transcend national boundaries as well as how they are being addressed by different groups and at different levels of governance."

PHS | "Der Umgang mit chronischen Krankheiten stellt die Gesundheitssysteme vor grosse Herausforderungen. Nicht zuletzt stellen sie bisherige Zusammenarbeitsmodelle in Frage, denn es zeigt sich: Prävention und Behandlung von chronischen Krankheiten können weder durch die medizinische und die nicht-medizinische Grundversorgung noch durch Public Health-Behörden und -Organisationen alleine erbracht werden. Vielmehr entwickeln sie sich zu einer Verbundaufgabe über einzelne Fachgebiete hinaus. An dieser Konferenz wird über fachbereichsübergreifende Kollaborationen in der Vorsorge und in der Versorgung sowie in der Forschung und in der Politikgestaltung diskutiert. Ein besonderes Augenmerk richtet die Konferenz dabei auch auf die Wahrnehmung von Public Health in Politik und Öffentlichkeit."

Summer School in Public Health Policy, Economics and Management

Swiss TPH | "The Summer School in Public Health Policy, Economics and Management is organised by SSPH+, the Institute of Economics (IdEP) of the University of Lugano and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH). The Summer School takes place annually in Lugano for one week in late
August. Courses (three or six days) are intended for professionals and managers of health administrations, hospitals and other services and facilities within the health sector, policy-makers and any student registered for one of the continuous education programs coordinated and supported by the SSPH+. Daily morning plenary sessions focus on current and relevant public health topics."

Public Health | Qualifikationsprofil im Gesundheitswesen anpassenSeit 1992 bietet der Interuniversitäre Weiterbildungsstudiengang Public Health zahlreiche Module an. Neben der Weiterbildung "Master of Public Health" (Master of Advanced Studies) werden auch CAS-Lehrgänge (Certficate of Advanced Studies) angeboten ("CAS in Epidemiologie und Biostatistik", "CAS in Gesundheitsförderung und Prävention" und "CAS in Gesundheitssysteme"). Die Weiterbildung richtet sich an Fachleute, die ihr gegenwärtiges oder künftiges Qualifikationsprofil an neue und komplexe Herausforderungen im Gesundheitswesen anpassen möchten. Die meisten Module stehen auch Interessierten offen, die sich im Public Health-Bereich fortbilden wollen.
