IAMANEH Schweiz veranstaltet am 10. Dezember im Rahmen der internationalen Kampagne „16 Tage gegen Gewalt an Frauen“ (siehe www.16tage.ch) einen Fachaustausch zum Thema "Psychosoziale Arbeit- aber wie? Lokale Ansätze in der Arbeit mit gewaltbetroffenen Frauen und Kindern im Süden ". Die Bedeutung der psychosozialen Dimension in Projekten der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit ist ein sehr aktuelles Thema. Aber: Was bedeutet psychosoziale Arbeit in den spezifischen Kontexten in den Ländern des Südens konkret, wie müssen die Ansätze an die kulturellen und sozialen Kontexte angepasst werden, und wo liegen die Schwierigkeiten? Nach einer Einführung ins Thema durch eine Fachperson werden Dr. Kadiatou Keita, Ärztin aus Mali, Dr. Irdèle Lubin, Professorin für Sozialarbeit aus Haiti, sowie eine weitere Fachperson zusammen mit dem Publikum diese Fragen diskutieren. "Urine as a Commercial Fertilizer? The separate collection of urine provides innovative opportunities for the improvement of sanitation and the recycling of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Urine separation is an excellent sanitation solution, particularly in places where classic sewer-based sanitation is not sustainable. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is providing a grant of 3.0 million US dollars to support a joint project by the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag) and the eThekwini Water and Sanitation utility (EWS) in South Africa to continue developing practical, community-scale nutrient recovery systems."

Das Sahelland Burkina Faso ist eines der ärmsten Länder der Welt. Die Mütter- und Kindersterblichkeit ist sehr hoch. Gemeinsam mit dem Gesundheitsministerium, der Weltgesundheitsorganisation, dem UN-Bevölkerungsfonds und anderen lokalen Organisationen unterstützt Enfants du Monde ein Gesundheitsprogramm, um das Leben von Tausenden von schwangeren Frauen, Müttern und Babys zu retten.
