It aims to develop new policy initiatives and practice that reflect the need for close co-operation on global health goals across government departments."

50 Jahre : ein Anfang! - Jubiläumsfeier der Leprahilfe Emmaus Schweiz

(D) Switzerland Leprahilfe Emmaus Schweiz | In diesem Jahr feiert die Leprahilfe ihr 50-jähriges Bestehen. Seit der Gründung unterstützt sie Menschen, die im Teufelskreis von Armut und Krankheit gefangen sind. Unter dem Motto „50 Jahre : ein Anfang!“ feiert sie das Jubiläum im Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern. Gemeinsam mit Gönner/-innen, Partnern und Mitarbeitenden aus den Projektländern hält die Leprahilfe Rückschau auf 50 Jahre Lepraarbeit und wirft einen Blick in die Zukunft. Im Zentrum des Engagements steht der Gedanke „Gesundheit für die Ärmsten“: "Die Kompetenzen, die wir uns in den letzten 50 Jahren Lepraarbeit angeeignet haben, wenden wir heute an, um den Ärmsten den Zugang zu Gesundheitsdiensten und ein selbständiges Leben in Würde zu ermöglichen."

Was setzt die offizielle Schweiz der Gewalteskalation entgegen? Was bedeutet das Aufflammen der Kämpfe für das Land insgesamt, und für die Region Kwango, wo mission 21 seit 1950 langjährige Aufbauarbeit leistet? Wie meistern die Kirchen in der D.R. Kongo ihre Aufgabe angesichts eines Staates, der sich weitgehend aus der Verantwortung für das Gemeinwohl zurückgezogen hat? Responses to HIV and AIDS need to be culturally appropriate, gender and age responsive, grounded in human rights and involve people living with HIV at all stages. Based on experiences and knowledge of partner organisations and others, cultural sensitive approaches to prevention, treatment, care and support of partner organisations are explored.

(D) Haiti Verein Partnerschaft Kinderspitäler Biel-Haïti | Die partnerschaftliche Zusammenarbeit von Schweizer Kinderärztinnen und Kinderärzten mit den haitianischen Aerzten der Kinderklinik des Hôpital Albert Schweitzer (HAS) in Deschapelles, Haiti ist seit vielen Jahren unsere Hauptaufgabe mit dem Ziel eine qualitativ hochstehende medizinische Betreuung der Kinder im Artibonite-Tal zu ermöglichen.
Die massive Auswanderung haitianischer Aerzte ist ein sehr grosses Problem für die medizinische Versorgung dieses Landes.Die partnerschaftliche Zusammenarbeit mit Schweizer Aerzten für die haitianischen Aerzte vor Ort und für die Spitalleitung sehr wichtig und weiterhin ein Anliegen. Durch gegenseitiges Lernen entsteht ein Gewinn für alle.
Wir suchen deshalb weiterhin Schweizer Aerztinnen und Aerzte mit mindestens 1 bis 2 Jahren Pädiatrie-Ausbildung und Kenntnis der französischen und englischen Sprache für einen ungefähr einjährigen Einsatz in der Kinderklinik des Hôpital Albert Schweitzer in Deschapelles, Haiti. Unser Verein übernimmt die Lohn-, Reise- und Versicherungskosten.
Nichtschweizerische Kinderärzte sind ebenfalls gebeten sich zu melden.

Outstanding achievements in the field of mental health care
Proposals for an award
(E) WHFS | The Swiss Foundation for World Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, invites proposals for an award for “Outstanding Achievement in the field of Mental Health Care”. The Award of 5’000.- FCH will be given to a person whose efforts have led to a significant improvement of the provision of health care for people with a mental illness. The improvement in the provision of care should be of such nature and magnitude that it can be considered outstanding under the prevailing circumstances.
The proposals for the Award should not be longer than 3 typewritten pages and should succinctly describe the achievement of the candidate. Self-proposals will not be acceptable. Up to three letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with the work in question may be added to the proposal. The proposals may be written in English or in French.
