To create a better common understanding on the issue and to assess the related skills and capacities, Medicus Mundi Switzerland initiated a qualitative study on the existing practices and capacities regarding implementation research by Swiss NGOs working in international health cooperation. The study has identified challenges, bottlenecks and possible solutions on how to overcome them. At the MMS Workshop the implementation research concept will be reflected upon and the results of the study will be discussed.
At the end of September 2017, the research team of the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine at the Bern University has concluded its Situation Analysis on “Implementation Research of Swiss NGOs Working in the Field of International Health Cooperation”. The study was mandated by the Network Medicus Mundi Switzerland.
The workshop provides an opportunity to discuss the findings of the situation analysis with the authors of the study and to get a closer view on implementation research concept.
Aims of the workshop
- All participants get familiar with the implementation research concept
- The participants understand the results of the study and learn about possibilities to work with it in their own institution.
- The IR-platform members develop a working plan for their activities
