“Health for All” by 2030 – On the Right Track or on the Verge of Failing

At the Medicus Mundi Switzerland (MMS) network’s 2018 symposium, the president of the Swiss National Council, Marina Carobbio Guscetti, and the former Minister of Health of Mozambique, Francisco Songane, were among those who highlighted the fact that, even forty years after the groundbreaking Alma-Ata Declaration, the provision of primary healthcare is still pivotal to achieving health for all. In order to reach the “Health for All” goal, inequalities must be eradicated and the distribution of resources improved. It is imperative that no-one is excluded and both political and economic interests must focus much more strongly on the goal than they have previously. The MMS symposium drew new conclusions and emphasised what needs to be done to ensure access to healthcare for everyone around the world as quickly as possible. You can read the fascinating contributions in the latest edition of our bulletin.
