World Health Organisation (WHO) The World Health Organization has published a groundbreaking report: Laws play a key role in improving public health and the right to health for all. However, in many countries, legislation, policies and practices are out of date and are in conflict with human rights obligations.

Effective laws and an enabling legal environment are as essential to a healthy society as clean water. Despite this, in many countries, legislation, policies and practices are antiquated, contrary to human rights obligations.
