Federal Council wants to combat international illegal organ trade more effectively

The Federal Council The fight against organ trafficking has to be tightened throughout Europe. Switzerland has been involved in a corresponding amendment to the law of the Council of Europe, which must standardize the criminal law provisions. The Swiss Transplantation Act already largely complies with the convention: "Swiss law prohibits paying money for the donation of an organ, accepting money or dealing with organs." However, in a new provision of the law it will also be punished if Swiss people are involved in organ trafficking offenses abroad.
