Graduate Institute Geneva By 2030, one in three people on the planet is projected to be living in an urban area. The global trend of rapid urbanisation provides a unique opportunity for cities to take on a preeminent role in the provision and coordination of health services for its inhabitants. As urban populations grow, local and city administrations are increasingly engaging and building alliances with national, regional and global actors, thereby occupying a new political space.
