Food firms slow to address twin scourges of undernutrition and obesity

The Guardian The world's largest food and beverage companies still have a long way to go to adequately participate in the fight against the scourges of malnutrition and obesity.

The latest Global Access to Nutrition Index 2016 states that multinational companies assume little responsibility in the global food crisis and act far too slow. Nearly 2 billion people are overweight, 600 million of them obese, 2 billion suffer from "hidden hunger" and malnutrition - the report calls for a concerted effort from industry, governments and civil society.
