Living as a blind woman in Nepal

Neue Zürcher Zeitung The 27-year-old blind Sarita Lamichhane was lucky: today, due to the admirable support of her family in her childhood, she is able to lead a largely autonomous life in Nepal, which many other handicapped people are denied. As the project leader of Nepal's NGO Nepal Disabled Women's Association (NDWA), Sarita works with great dedication for other women with disabilities. The Christoffel-Blindenmission (CBM) supports the project in Nepal and invited Sarita to Switzerland. Articel by Elena Panagiotidis in the NZZ. (Photo: Nepal WOREC4 / CWGL / flickr, CC BY-NC-ND 2.0)
